Their broken hearts

met in fated gaze

upon the ship's deck,

feeling hope might reborn.

 

Confusing following,

ship striking reef

and sinking.

 

Clinging together,

while allowing the current

to bring them towards shore.

 

Love's tide now washing over them

on the sand,

rescued from drowning

with passion's preserver.
